Lexington investigators track string of suspicious fires

Lexington fire officials are looking into three fires around town, all in the overnight hours, that they are calling suspicious.

The first happened around 11:30 Tuesday night on West High Street. Firefighters had to put out a fire on a large pile of garbage that had spread to a tree.

The second fire happened a short time later, behind Stella's Deli on Jefferson Street. Fire crews found a fire inside a dumpster. A window was also busted out in the deli, which set off an alarm. At this point, investigators don't think anything was taken.

The third fire happened around one Wednesday morning on Glass Alley. Two sheds were on fire. One was destroyed. The other was badly damaged.

Fire investigators are trying to determine causes on each fire.
