LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington man is behind bars after being charged with animal cruelty.

Police arrested Curtis Powers, 23, on Friday. They say he admitted to biting his dog.

Powers' court documents show he bit the dog back in March, and the bites could be seen on the dog's face.

Police say when they arrived on scene the dog was unable to move and Powers admitted to dislocating the dog's shoulder.

Animal control officers took the dog into their care.
