Lexington man charged in violent attack on woman

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is accused in a violent attack on a woman.

Lexington Police arrested 22-year-old Christian Warta. According to court records, the victim told police that Warta picked her up at her dorm back in October. She says they went to the river to talk and had been out together before.

In the court documents, the victim stated that she had two beers that Warta brought with him.The victim told police that as they were leaving, she began to feel nauseous and closed her eyes. She says when she woke up, she was at a residence.

The document goes on to say that she fell asleep inside, and was awakened by the suspect who climbed on top her. The victim told police that the suspect sodomized her and didn't stop until she began to vomit.

The victim was taken to the emergency room for examination.

According to court documents, the victim sent a text message to the suspect and asked him why he attacked her. Police say Warton's reply was "I don't know."

Warta is charged with first degree sodomy.
