Lexington man runs from traffic stop

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police say they had to chase a driver after finding a car on the side of the road. It happened early Friday morning on New Circle Road.

Police say they spotted a car there and stopped to help the driver. The vehicle then started up when police arrived and after letting the car drive ahead, police say it stopped again. An officer got out with the car and when he walked up, police say the driver jumped out of his seat and ran off into a wooded area.

Police lost the suspect in the woods, but they arrested a passenger for alcohol intoxication. Police took that passenger to the hospital for cuts the man had on his face. They say they're not sure how the man had sustained those injuries.
