Updated: Fri 1:31 PM, Dec 21, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington Police officer was not injured when her cruiser slid off the road and crashed into a guardrail. The crash happened around 1:45 Friday morning on the inner loop of New Circle Road.

The officer, identified and Samantha Moore, was driving over the Richmond Road overpass when she lost control of the 2007 Crown Victoria.
The cruiser went off the road, over the end of the cable barrier, and struck the guardrail.

Officer Moore was taken to the UK Hospital Emergency Room for treatment of minor injuries.

Investigators say slick roads played a role in this crash. The streets and roads department was called to the overpass to treat the roadway.
