Lexington police arrest man in connection with June home invasion

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Deputies have arrested Kenneth Ponders at a home in Louisville in connection with a home invasion in Lexington.

Back in June, a family reported that three men armed with guns forced their way into their home on Honey Jay Court. The homeowner told police the men told her 19-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son that they would kill them if they tried to call for help or escape.

Police said the men went through the house, gathering items before they left. Later, a K9 unit found the stolen goods stashed behind a duplex down the street from the house.

After the robbery, one of the victims managed to identify one of the suspects on Facebook, and two victims later picked Ponders out of a photographic lineup.

Ponders is now back in Lexington. He will be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
