Lexington police kept busy with overnight shootings

Police were kept busy running from shooting to shooting on Sunday night in Lexington.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) Police were kept busy running from shooting to shooting on Sunday night in Lexington.

Around 10:30 last night, police said three people were shot while standing in front of a home on Florence Avenue. One person was hit in the chest and critically wounded. He was rushed to UK hospital. The other two shooting victims are expected to survive.

Police said at least 12 shots were fired, and they believe the suspect was in a car.

After the shooting, Lexington police checked out at least eight other calls of "shots fired" around Lexington.

On East 2nd St., police said they found a car that was shot. On Eastern Avenue, they said at least one bullet went into a home.

No one was hurt in these later shootings.
