Lexington police searching for two robbers who left clothes behind as clues

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police are searching for two men they say robbed a gas station at gunpoint, and then left behind a trail of clothes.

Police were called to the Marathon gas station on North Broadway at Haggard Lane around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said two men dressed in all black walked into the store, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money from the clerk.

The robbers took an unknown amount of cash and ran out the back of the store, towards the Red Roof Inn. Police said they tried to track the robbers with their K-9 unit, and managed to find some clothing in the area that was taken in as evidence.

They said no one was injured in the robbery.
