Lexington road closed after driver strikes pole

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A driver struck a pole Sunday morning, causing a traffic issue for those trying to get down Leestown Road near the Fayette-Scott County line.

Lexington Police responded to a single vehicle accident around 10:50am Sunday morning.

The driver had lost control of his vehicle, striking a pole. He was transported to UK Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Kentucky Utilities was called out to fix the pole, which police say left wires exposed.

As of 1:30pm Sunday Traffic was still being diverted around the area. Scott County Police were helping to divert traffic from their side of the line.
