Lexington road back open after water main break

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A busy Lexington road is back open after an eight-inch water main break Wednesday night.

The main broke along Leestown Road, near Forbes Road. That's near Meadowthorpe Shopping Center.

Kentucky American Water officials said there was never no boil water advisory in the area. The break mainly affected commercial customers.

Crews worked into the early morning hours to repair the break. All lanes along Leestown Road were back open by 5:00 a.m.
