Lexington woman accused of shoplifting, running over friend

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police say a woman is accused of shoplifting and injuring her friend Sunday afternoon.

It happened at the Meijer grocery store off Nicholasville Road around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police say two friends were driving to the Meijer to shop.

They say the suspect, who they have identified as Jackie Perry, had shoplifted from the store and was attempting to get away.

They say Perry then backed over her friend's leg and drove away.

Her friend was taken to UK hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police describe perry as an African American woman driving a blue Lincoln Towncar with Kentucky temporary tags.
