Lextran unveils new real-time bus stop information system

Posted: Tue 4:57 PM, Jan 29, 2013

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lextran has announced the "soft" launch of their new Interactive Voice Response system.

The new system uses real-time information to update next bus departure times, to help passengers who might otherwise be left waiting out in the rain.

Lextran users can now call the new number and enter their stop number to get precise stop times. Lextran says stops are organized by outbound and inbound locations along their route. The say eventually every stop will have new signs identifying the number needed to enter into the IVR phone system.

Right now, Lextran says the IVR system is still in "testing" phases.

The number to check stop times is (859) 244-2020.
