Clipper moves across Ky. bringing more light snow

Updated: Sun 10:47 AM, Feb 03, 2013

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Light snow will quickly end early afternoon across central and eastern Kentucky Sunday. Much of the region picked up 1"-3" on Saturday and another inch or so Sunday morning.

The heaviest snow today fell in the southern part of our viewing area. Somerset, London and Harlan County measured an additional half inch to two inches today, according to WKYT meteorologist Kari Hall.

A Winter Weather Advisory was in effect for counties bordering TN and VA but was dropped after snow moves east late morning.

The Lexington metro may still see some light flurries through the afternoon and mainly cloudy skies.

Today's high should get close to 30. It will cool down to 14 overnight Sunday so be careful as any accumulated water on the roads will freeze. After a brief break from precipitation, we're looking another round of light snow mixed with rain and a high of 34 for Monday, says Hall.
