LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Fayette County corrections officers with daughters dealing with some significant health problems received a big boost of support from a Lexington restaurant Tuesday.

Sergeants Jaime and Jacob Crawford were at the Chick-fil-A in Hamburg Tuesday night raising funds to fight their daughter's disease, called Batten Disease. They were overwhelmed by the number of people willing to donate at the event.

"It's tremendous. You don't realize the heart that people have until something like this occurs and we're just very privileged to be a part of it," noted Sergeant Jacob Crawford.

Officer Chris Canter and his wife Cassy were there too. Their daughter is suffering from a brain injury.

"His work, the jail, and the FOP and everybody has been so supportive since day one," explained Cassy Canter, "they came to the hospital. They were there sometimes three times a day bringing food even after we got home. Everybody's been amazing"

Chick-fil-A donated 20% of their earnings Tuesday night to both families.
