LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Small businesses near Triangle Park are hoping to cash in on the crowds headed downtown for Luminate Lexington Saturday.

Victorian Square Shoppes are hosting an open house to coincide with Small Business Saturday. The half dozen stores inside the shopping center say they've already seen an increase in shoppers because of the skating rink, and once the holiday season officially begins, they're expecting far more.

The Sweet Spot's Allen Riggs described to WKYT the advantage of his shop's location, "it's right off of Main Street. It's across from Triangle Park. It's got a great view. We're a block away from Rupp so we get all the business from games, and conventions, concerts."

Small Business Saturday started in 2010 as a way to promote local businesses across the county.
