LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A state board has disciplined a Louisville doctor known as an outspoken conservative political activist, saying he prescribed excessive amounts of drugs without proper documentation or justification.
The Courier-Journal(http://cjky.it/QKbpSq) reports the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure issued an order that temporarily restricts the right of Dr. Frank Simon to prescribe controlled substances.
The allergy, immunology and internal medicine doctor led the Kentucky state branch of the American Family Association before merging it with the Tea Party of Kentucky. He is an outspoken opponent of gay rights and abortion.
