Madison Co. inmate wanted, failed to return from furlough

MADISON CO, Ky. (WKYT) - A Madison County inmate is wanted after she failed to return to jail from furlough.

On Friday morning, an inmate at the Madison County Detention Center was granted medical furlough with orders to report back after the appointment was over, but that didn't exactly go as planned.

Saturday afternoon, detention center employees contacted Kentucky State Police to inform them that 38-year-old Flora J. Carrier hadn't returned to the detention center following a very short medical furlough.

Carrier, who is from Richmond, was being held on charges for theft by deception, including cold checks.

Police say it's possible that Carrier is with her husband, who also has several outstanding warrants.

Once police locate her or once she turns herself in, officials tell us that she will be charged as an escapee.

Kentucky State Police Richmond Post is handling this investigation.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Flora Carrier, you're asked to contact KSP at 859-623-2404 or 1-800-222-5555.

Since 2011, Flora Carrier has been booked eleven times in the Madison County Detention Center.
