RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - A man has died after being run over by a dump truck.
Kentucky State Police say Michael G. Williams, 63, of Berea, was helping a dump truck driver deliver gravel to a friend's home and to the property next door that Williams owned when he fell behind the truck and went under it.
"They said the guy hit him when they raised the bed up like this," said Dale Potter, who lives at the home where the accident happened. "He didn't even see him behind him, he went underneath the truck."
The Madison County Coroner pronounced Williams dead at the scene.
"I went to pieces," said William Seals. Seals is married to Williams' cousin.
"It shouldn't have happened this way, Mike was too good of a man for this to happen like this," Seals said.
Kentucky State Police have an open death investigation but say they don't expect any charges to be filed.
Williams leaves behind a wife of 43 years, three sons, and five grandchildren.
