Madison County issues fire burn ban
Madison County Fire Department has issued a fire ban.
The ban took effect at noon on Friday and will stay in effect until the fire department decides to lift it. "We need to see some rain before we make any changes," explains Madison County Fire Department Captain Tim Gray, "we have only had three days of rain in the month of June so we are behind on rain."
The fire department is urging everyone to comply with the ban. " We want people to take this seriously cause we're taking it seriously. If people do not comply with the ban and starts bon fires or camp fires we will look into pressing charges," explains Gray.
Captain Gray says that the ban will stay in effect until they receive enough rainfall to not make for extremely dry conditions.
