Man accused of shining laser at police helicopter

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville police say they have arrested a man accused of shining a laser pointer at a police helicopter.

Police say the incident occurred early Sunday and the arrest was made a short time later.

Authorities plan to provide more details at a press conference Wednesday morning. An FBI official is expected to be among the officials offering details.

The Federal Aviation Administration has said that the intense light from hand-held lasers can distract and temporarily blind pilots.
