LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man accused of killing his girlfriend made his first court appearance on Wednesday morning.

London Police say Sean Messer, 34, stabbed Pam Bobbitt, 25, to death in front of her two young children on Tuesday.

During Wednesday's hearing, Messer had a not guilty plea entered on his behalf. He told the judge he understood the charges against him.

We expect to learn more about the crime during a preliminary hearing set for 11:00 a.m. on October 30.

Messer is in jail on a $250,000 bond. The judge says the bond will remain the same.

We're told funeral arrangements for Bobbitt are being worked out through a Barbourville funeral home.
