Man allegedly points gun at Lexington officer during road rage incident

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An incident of road rage ended in an arrest on Newtown Pike after police say a driver took his rage out on the wrong guy.

A man is in jail after a road rage incident which police say the driver pointed a gun at the second driver, who turned out to be an undercover Lexington police officer.

It happened around 12:30 Thursday afternoon on Newtown Pike.

Police say the officer was traveling inbound when he saw David K. Parsons' car weaving in and out of traffic.

Parsons allegedly cut off the officer and at that time, the officer says he looked over at the Parsons, who showed a gun.

That's when Lexington Police say the officer showed Parsons his badge.

Parsons was pulled over and arrested. He is charged with wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and carrying and concealed deadly weapon.

Parsons has declined the opportunity to talk to WKYT crews from inside the jail.
