Man charged with violent Lexington restaurant robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say they have made an arrest in a violent robbery of a downtown restaurant.

Court documents show Lexington police have charged Timothy Howell, 22, with robbery.

Police say he admitted to stealing the tip jar from L.A. Gourmet Pizza on West Main Street days before his arrest.

Surveillance video shows Howell hitting the restaurant owner in the head with a metal bike lock during the robbery.

The owner was not seriously hurt.
