Man arrested after hostage situation

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is in custody for holding his family hostage.

It happened Monday night on Highway 472 in Laurel County, near the Clay County line.

The sheriff's office tells WKYT Donald Dixon fired shots during an argument with his wife.

We're told he then took her and their two children outside where he fired more shots.

When deputies arrived, they say he took his family back inside the home and wouldn't let them go.

Investigators say he eventually let everyone go and surrendered.
