RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - Richmond Police arrested a man after they say he held a woman hostage for more than eight hours.

James Foster is facing several charges because of what police say he did to an acquaintance. That acquaintance told Richmond Police Foster accused her of stealing his manufactured meth. She says he then duct taped her to a pole in his living room and left her there for nine hours on Monday. Police say Foster repeatedly hit the woman in the head and around her eyes during that time. He is charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment, manufacturing meth, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Foster declined WKYT's request for an interview from jail.
