Man arrested in Laurel Co. robbery found hiding under bed

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - Two people are in jail after an overnight robbery in Southern Kentucky.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office tells us 32-year-old Shawn Stehlin was seen robbing Brock's Tobacco Store at gunpoint.

A witness followed his getaway car. When police caught up with the car, Stehlin was gone, but they arrested the driver, 46-year-old Darla Mccormick.

Police say they found Stehlin hiding under a bed in his mother's house with all the cash he stole from the store.

Both are charged with robbery and are currently lodged at the Laurel County Detention Facility.

The Sheriff's Office says Stehlin is also a person of interest in other recent robberies in the area.
