Man attacked with a machete in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police are still searching for two men who they say attacked another man with a machete late Sunday night.

Around 10:30 Sunday night, a man living on Danielle Lane heard a knock at his door. Investigators said when he went to answer it, the person on the other side began attacking him with a machete.

The victim was able to fend the suspect off, but in the process received a few cuts on his hand.

WKYT spoke to Lexington police officials early Monday morning, who said they don't believe this is a random act of violence.

The victim was able to give police a description of his attacker.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, about 5'10" tall and weighing around 125 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and khaki shorts.

Police also told WKYT that the victim recognized a second person with his attacker, who also ran from the scene after the assault.

Investigators are also searching for that person in connection with this crime.
