Man charged with DUI in Lexington after injuring another driver

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - One driver is in jail, and another recovering in the hospital, after a violent crash. The crash happened around 12:30 Wednesday morning on Newtown Pike.

Lexington Police tell WKYT that a woman was stopped at a traffic light on Newtown, at Georgetown Street, when she was rear-ended by a red jeep. Police say that the jeep was traveling at speeds near 60 miles per hour when the collision happened.

The driver of the jeep, Christopher Hook, was arrested by Lexington Police and charged with driving under the influence.

The victim was taken to the hospital with minor back injuries.
