Man convicted in fatal Graves County fire

MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) - A jury in Mayfield has convicted a man of murdering a Graves County man by setting his mobile home on fire.

The Paducah Sun (http://bit.ly/PlOOGl ) reported jurors found Cole Douglas Ross guilty of murder and arson on Wednesday and then recommended sentences of two concurrent life terms.

A first attempt to try Ross in the October 2009 killing of Keith Colston ended in mistrial when another jury deadlocked.

The men were friends and evidence showed they spent most of a day together before Colston's body was found in his burned trailer early the next morning.

Defense attorney Nathan Goodrich said he was surprised at the conviction and said Ross plans to appeal it.
