Man crashes into two Lexington homes after being stopped by police

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police arrested a man they say crashed his car into two homes after driving off from a traffic stop.

It happened late Tuesday night, just before midnight, on Springfield Drive.

Police say Jeffery Jackson, 38, was stopped for reckless driving. However, after police had pulled over Jackson, he took off.

Officers ran his license plate, but when police arrived to the home listed, they did not find Jackson's vehicle.

A short time after the initial traffic stop, police received a 911 call, and found Jackson's car, which had crashed into two homes.

Police say Jackson was going too fast and and lost control on a curve.

The car hit another vehicle before hitting one home, then coming to a stop in front of another.

Fire officials say the two houses are structurally sound.

Jackson was arrested and charged with a DUI. A 17-year-old passenger was in the car with Jackson. Neither was hurt in the crash.
