Man hit by train in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are investigating after a man was killed by a train Sunday night in Lexington.

It happened just before 9pm somewhere between Mercer Road and Sandersville Road.

The Fayette County Coroner says the victim is a 55-year-old black man. His name will not be released until his family has been notified.

Police say the victim died at the scene.

Police interviewed the Norfolk Southern Conductor about what happened but have not yet released any more details.
