Man dies after being shot in Morehead home invasion

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - Kentucky State Police now say a man injured in a shooting during a home invasion has died.

Police say 20-year-old Bo Otis, of Owingsville, died at UK Hospital Monday.

State Police say the shooting happened just after 1:00 Sunday afternoon at the Rose Mobile Home Park in Morehead. They say a man called 911 after a possible home invasion. When they got here, they say they found Otis with a gunshot wound to the head.

Ashley Settlemires lives right next door to that home and says she's never had any problems.

"I've been in this little area for about two years now. I've never had a problem with anybody here," Settlemires said.

She says she doesn't know the man personally, but it still came as a shock.

"It just kind of scared me when someone knocked on my door and said that 'Your neighbor's been shot. Have you seen or heard anything?' I was like 'Wow'," she said.

Police haven't released any information on possible suspects. Settlemires says she'll be more vigilant from now on.

"I need to put my guard up a little more and start communicating more with my neighborhood," she said.
