Man in serious condition after shooting by deputy

SANDY HOOK, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police say a man has been seriously injured in a shooting by a sheriff's deputy in eastern Kentucky.

State police responded to a request for assistance at a domestic dispute in Sandy Hook and said 39-year-old Jamie Roseberry was shot twice in the chest early Tuesday after he brandished a knife and approached the deputy in an aggressive manner.

The deputy's name was not released.

Police said Roseberry was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

Police said Roseberry was reported to be under the influence of drugs and had made threats to kill his wife.
