Man indicted in fatal attack at neighbor meeting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A grand jury has indicted a Kentucky man on two counts of murder in the fatal shooting of two neighbors at a homeowners association meeting. He could face the death penalty if convicted.

The Jefferson Circuit Court grand jury indicted 55-year-old Mahmoud Yousef Hindi of Louisville on Thursday.

The charges will allow prosecutors to consider seeking the death penalty.

Hindi has been in jail since the shooting occurred last week at a meeting of the Spring Creek Homeowners Association. A judge on Thursday ordered him held without bond and set arraignment for Monday.

Police say Hindi had a history of disputes with the homeowners group over his fence and driveway in the upscale neighborhood.

The shooting killed 73-year-old David Merritt and 69-year-old Marvin Fisher.
