MARION COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man accused of killing a sheriff's deputy has been indicted on formal charges.
DeWayne Shipp, 49, is charged with murder of a police officer and for being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Shipp is accused of shooting and killing Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Anthony Rakes last week.
He is behind bars at the state prison in LaGrange.
Shipp will be back in court in December.
