Man killed by train Tuesday evening identified

JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - It took several days to identify a man who was hit and killed by a train on Tuesday evening.

Jessamine County Coroner Michael Hughes has identified the man as 55-year-old Charles Everett Carter, who lived in Lexington.

Hughes tells us the man was standing on the tracks just south of Baker Lane in Nicholasville, just before midnight, when he was struck by the train.

He says the man did not appear to move before the impact.

The official cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma.
