POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is dead after police say he was stabbed this afternoon in Powell County.

Many questions are left unanswered in the case.

It has been quite a scene here on First Avenue in Clay City where police are now telling us 50 year old Kelly McCoy was stabbed to death.

As for who is responsible for this man's death, police say 67 year old Terrance Wagner is, who was just charged with murder.

And the family says they want him behind bars for life.

An argument is what police say lead to this deadly stabbing, killing McCoy.

Family tells us McCoy had a daughter and a 15 year old son who police say actually saw his father after he was stabbed in this home.

"It's a bad neighborhood down here, very bad. But I never expected nothing like this," said Linda Townsend, the victim's sister.

It came as a shock to many here on First Avenue where McCoy was surrounded by friends and family.

Police say McCoy has one fatal stab wound in his stomach.
