LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is in jail after deputies in Laurel County say he shot a bullet through his neighbor's window, nearly hitting him.
It happened at a home off Combs Circle, just west of London around 9:30 Sunday night.
Deputies responded to a complaint that a man was lying in his bed when a bullet came through the window and stuck into his bedroom door.
"I heard the glass break. It sounded like a picture fell over," said Herb King.
King told police that the bullet had come just inches from his head.
"If I were sitting up, it probably would have blown my brains out," explained King.
After an investigation deputies found that the bullet had come from his neighbor Charles Smith, 36.
Deputies say Smith refused to lay down his weapon but deputies were eventually able to convince him to put it down.
Smith is charged with 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment and is currently lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
