Man pleads guilty to blackmail in online photo scam

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey authorities say a Philadelphia man has admitted he blackmailed a man who responded to his online ad for gay sex. Steven Beisher pleaded guilty to theft by extortion.

Authorities say he admitted taking nearly $2,000 from a New Jersey man who responded to an Craigslist ad by sending a naked photo of himself.

Beisher got the victim's phone number and address - and called the next day threatening to tell his wife and family if he didn't pay up.

The victim met Beisher several times afterward, paying from $200 to $400 each time to buy his silence.

Beisher is expected to get a five-year prison term when he's sentenced in July.
