Man stabbed by passenger while driving

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Tonight, a man is recovering after police say his passenger stabbed him, while he was driving.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent stabbing which occurred early Sunday morning around 4:50 A.M.

Deputies arrested the suspect, 50-year-old Michael Alsip, and charged him with assault.

Investigators say early yesterday morning Alsip and the driver, Randal Jenkins, got into a fight in Jenkins' SUV.

They say Alsip pulled out a knife, cut Jenkins' neck, then got out of the SUV and ran off.

Deputies soon arrested him. There's no word on Jenkins' condition.
