Man suspected in Lexington, Owensboro robberies captured

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A man wanted in connection to a Lexington bank robbery is now behind bars.

Police in Warren County caught up with 45-year old Christopher Schenk. He was arrested around five Monday afternoon.

Just last week, Lexington Police named Schenk as the primary suspect in a robbery at the U.S. Bank on Richmond Road. It happened on January 28th.

In addition to the January hold-up in Lexington, Schenk was also wanted on a warrant out of Daviess County. Police say Schenk was behind a December hold-up at a bank in Owensboro.

Officials in the Warren County Jail tell WKYT that Schenk was released around three Tuesday morning to police in Daviess County on a robbery charge. There is no word on when Schenk will come to Lexington to face charges.
