Man suspected in rash of burglaries

Earlier this week, Lexington police search on the ground and even in the air for a wanted man with a parole violation and a felony burglary charge.

But before Banks was finally caught, police say that he first broke into several local businesses.

According to court documents, Banks is facing at least seventeen charges for crimes he allegedly committed within the past two weeks.

Subway employees tell us that Banks was caught on surveillance cameras at the restaurant on Alexandria Drive last Friday night. In the video, the man employees identify as Banks is wearing a wig, a cap, and even gloves as he rummages through the cash register. Police say that Banks got away with over $1,100 dollars.

Also on Friday night, police say Banks broke into this Dunkin' Donuts on South Broadway. According to police, Banks didn't find any cash there but managed to leave behind $300 in damage after breaking a window.

Three days later on Monday, according to police, Banks returned to the Same Subway on Alexandria. This time employees removed all cash and Banks left empty handed. Employees say that he did however, cause some damage.

"The glass was broken. And it was just another repair cost on us that we had to fix and also a loss of money for our company," says Timothy Combs, a Subway employee.

Police say this wasn't Banks only stop on Monday. They also say he hit another Subway restaurant on Versailles Road. Police say he stole $7,000 and damaged the door.

After two break-in's, employees at the Subway on Alexandria are happy that Banks has been finally been arrested.
