Police find man with special needs alone in home near barn with meth inside

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - What started out as a routine check soon turned into a disturbing discovery for police.

After receiving a drug complaint Monday afternoon, the Clay County Sheriff's Office says deputies found a one step meth lab in a barn on Teges Creek Road.

When police went to search the home on the property, they say they found a man with special needs alone inside.

"The individuals that were on probation or parole were supposed to be taking care of a special needs adult. After we gained entrance into the residence to see if anybody was there is when we found the special needs adult who apparently has had nothing to eat in a couple days," Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson told WKYT.

They Clay County Sheriff's Office took the man to the hospital to be treated.

We're told no arrests have been made in the case.
