Man accused of stabbing, shooting father and son talks to WKYT

The man accused of stabbing and shooting one man and running over another spoke to WKYT from behind bars Thursday.

Police say Bennis Dunn stabbed and shot Codie Sexton at a home in rural Bath County and then used his car to run over Sexton's dad, Troy.

With his eyes nearly swollen shut, Dunn said he never meant for any of the incidents to happen and he is claiming self defense.

Dunn says that He tried to break up a fight between father and son, Troy and Codie Sexton and that they didn't like that.

"They got me down on the ground and was beating the heck out of me. Then I finally got away and got in my truck."

Dunn claims that Codie Sexton threatened to kill him with a knife and that is when Dunn shot him.

Dunn is charged with assault.
