Kentucky State Police arrested 32-year-old Dennis Sparrow of Harrodsburg on Tuesday after a chase. Troopers charged Sparrow with Speeding, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree (motor vehicle), Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree (on foot), Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Required Insurance 1st, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree.
Troopers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Sparrow from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at a residence on Main Street in Mackville. As Troopers approached the residence, they say Sparrow took off in a 2002 Chevy. A short vehicle pursuit followed until police say Sparrow stopped the car and took off running. Troopers say Sparrow left his vehicle in gear. It rolled backward and hit a trooper's cruiser. He was not injured.
Police arrested Sparrow 8 miles east of Mackville on Deep Creek Road in Mercer County. He was also charged with Cultivating Marijuana 5 plants or more, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 2nd Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on the Washington County Warrant.
