One man is dead, another charged with his murder.
Paris Police arrested Herbert Jones, 58, for the death of Ernie Waugh who was found inside him home on Connelly Avenue Saturday morning.
"I live right next door and I didn't hear anything" explains next door neighbor Alpha Herrington. "Ernie was such a kind man, I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to do anything to hurt him."
Witnesses told police Jones and Waugh had been fighting before the victim's body was found.
Police tell 27 Newsfirst Jones returned to the scene while officers were interviewing witnesses, who identified Jones as the suspect.
"I just can't stand to think about knowing he is gone," explains Herrington, "He would help me take out my trash, he'd even help me pack my groceries in, just the nicest man. I'm really going to miss the guy, I really am. He was just so good to everybody."
The cause of death is still being investigated.
Jones is being held without bail at the Bourbon County Regional Detention Center.
