Police are searching for two men who broke into a Lexington apartment overnight.
It happened at Beaumont Farms, a complex in Beaumont Centre off Harrodsburg Rd.
Police say the burglars didn't have to force their way into the apartment, saying there were no signs of forced entry.
Once than man who lives in the apartment woke up, he scared the intruders away.
The man living in the invaded apartment tells police he was sleeping, when a little after 2:00 Thursday morning, he woke up to something very out of the ordinary. Two men were rummaging through his apartment.
"They began removing a TV and a few bags that were laying on the ground," says Lt. Rodney Sherrod with Lexington Police.
But he didn't let that stand for long. Police say the victim took matters into his own hands.
"He came and confronted them and immediately they ran out of the apartment," says Sherrod.
Police say it never got violent, and the burglars didn't get away with the TV. But, they did take two black satchels from the apartment.
"The satchels had a bunch of documents and paperwork of his in it," Sherrod says.
Police searched the area, finding some clothing in the complex parking lot they believe belongs to the burglars.
The victim also tells police the two intruders did not appear to have any weapons on them.
Police say the victim could not give them a good description of the two men because it was dark. Investigators were able to collect fingerprints.
