Man killed while trying to help stranded friend

State Police say a man, on his way to help a stranded friend, died in a crash early Wednesday morning.

Dominic Allen, 24, was on the Western Kentucky Parkway, trying to get to a friend who had run out of gas, when he pulled into the path of a semi.

Troopers say Allen was trying to make a u-turn and get to his friend on the other side of the highway.
