Man dies in afternoon crash

A man has died after a serious crash in Lexington.

It happened Saturday afternoon on Paris Pike between Ironworks Pike and Muir Station Road, near the Bourbon County line.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 22-year-old Travis K. Brown. He is from Paris.

Police tell NEWSFIRST Brown was headed inbound when he lost control, hit some rocks and was thrown from his car. Police say speed and wet roads likely played a role in the crash. They also say Brown was not wearing a seat belt. He was the only person in the car.
