Lexington man's moped stolen while working

David Jewell says his moped is the only form of transportation for both him and his mother. He parks it outside while he's working at Movie Tavern, but when he finished his shift Monday night, he says it was nowhere to be found.

Jewell says after a run of bad luck, Jewell says he and his mother have come to rely on that moped for everything from getting him to work, getting groceries, and going to get his mother's medication. Last night, though, he says two men stole it right off the sidewalk in front of the building. He says he keeps the steering wheel locked to ward off thieves, but they somehow found a way around it. Now, he's not sure what he and his mother will do.

"I have no idea what I'm going to do. I have no idea what my mother's going to do because she can't get her medication with it, she any get groceries with it. She can barely walk out of the parking lot that's in front of her house," said Jewell.

Jewell says security cameras caught the two men. He hopes that will help police make a quick arrest. He says he's been checking Craigslist to see if the moped pops up for sale.
